I see a lot of posts on here saying that we have the best health care in the world and the evidence is that people come here from other countries to get care. I agree that we have the best health CARE in the world.
What is being discussed is health care coverage, not health care. That is, the way health care is paid for.
Do you understand the difference?
Yes. If you have unlimited resources as an American you have the best health care in the world. If you are an ordinary citizen you simply don’t. Even the average health care plan generally does not cover the basics like European systems do. All too often Americans find out just how under insured they are when sickness strikes.

That’s important because when those people are lucky enough to stay healthy they will never see a problem whatsoever just as their fellow countrymen were just fine with their coverage before tradgedy happened.

This is the same thing as with the standard of living. Americans have a higher income on average than Americans but more detailed data shows it’s the top 1 percent income earners that’s responsible for the whole difference. Middle clas an poor Americans are much worse of than their European counterparts
That’s ultimately what it is about
yes I have seen a doctor and a dentist. No answer for me. Please don’t tell me to chew gum and suck mints because they don’t work.
keep your mouth hydrated (moist) at all times! dry mouth = instant bad breath. rinse your mouth often with a moisturizing non-alcoholic mouthwash like Oasis. Really works.
For long term help, you can try the Dr. Katz’s Therabreath system which definitely worked for me 100%.
Next week i am playing a solo on the tenor horn. My problem is i am worried about getting a dry mouth through nerves. Any advice on how i can stop the dry mouth syndrome, and over come the nerves. Any advice which works welcome.
Thank you…..
Rub your hands on your trousers, so they’re not sweaty.
Drink lots of water before, but make sure you use the toilet as well.
When you are playing, or just before you start, imagine in your head exactly what it’s about to sound like.
And go with the flow.
Don’t forget to smile!
I hypothesize that it’s because my body’s water is going else where during the act, but I was just wanted to know for sure, and if anyone else experiences this. By the way, I’m 21 and on the pill (Yaz), but I don’t think that affects me because the only time I get dry mouth and am extremely thirsty is during sex.
i can only assume that you get thirsty because your active… like if you take a run… you want a drink… during or after… i get thirsty during sex as well… your also breathing harder and the air dries your throat
Over the past few days my husband has had really bad breath and it was really bad especially over the weekend. I could smell it from his breath and when he breathed through his nose. He tried rinsing his mouth with mouthwash and of course he brushed his teeth several times. He also tried lemon water and his breath still smelled funky. What would cause really bad breath and what can he do to get rid of the bad breath?
Maybe it’s his sinuses and post-nasal drip causing the bad odor. Maybe a sinus decongestant can make a difference.
Hi,
I suffer from toenail fungus, and I’ve tried ALL home remedies available without success. I’m also about to buy health insurance. I thought I would take this opportunity to finally visit the doctor and get rid of this problem. My questions are:
1. Which health insurance plans offer the best coverage to treat toenail fungus?
2. Do they cover the medication and the surgery required in some cases to remove the toenail?
Thank you for all your help!
most insurance will cover the costs you mention if the doctor thinks it is medically necessary.
How does one determine if they have chronic halitosis without asking someone else’s opinion?
i have read in a magazine, i forgot what it was, they said to wet the back oh your hands with your tongue and let it air dry, then after it has dried check the odor of the spot, be sure to clean your hands before and after doing so..
I have Constipation ,Ongoing Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Fatigue , Dry mouth , Sexual dysfunction, Vivid/Abnormal dreams, and Apathy
By the way im currently taking Venlafaxine. Before I was on Prozac, and one other that I forget the name of.
Been on this medication for about 3 or 4 months
I would ask how long you have been on it because as I recall from my time on Effexor (or Venlafaxine) the vivid dreams went away after a while. If it has been more than 12 weeks and you don’t feel the good you are getting from the meds outweighs the side effects (and it would have to be a lot of good) then I would suggest telling your doctor about all the side effects you are experiencing. Whatever you do, do NOT come off this medication cold turkey…titrate down over time — let your doc work out a schedule, because it is the worst med to come off if you have been on it for any length of time at all! Best of luck to you.
Im 10 weeks pregnant and I feel a dry mouth all day long. Ive been drinking water all day as well. Could it be diabetes at only 10 weeks of pregnancy?
Its pretty unlikely that it is gestational diabetes at this early in the pregnancy, definitely not impossible, but unlikely. Are you taking pre-natal vitamins? Those often turn out to be the culprit, if you read the pamphlet that comes with the prescription, dry mouth is usually listed as one of the side effects. You could try to take it at night right before you go to bed, and this sometimes helps, other than that I’ve heard sucking on sour flavored candies helps out a lot too. You might mention that you are concerned that it could be gestational diabetes to your doctor, and they can go over risk factors and information with you to see if you should be tested early for it. Good luck =)
