September 17, 2009 - 8:50 am Comments Off

Some people want a cheap, safe way to get whiter teeth. Hydrogen Peroxide can be used at home and whitens your teeth. The way to use it is to mix together baking soda and hydrogen peroxide to make a thick paste. In addition, you can add mint flavored toothpaste and salt for a better taste. For best results, you should use this mixture twice a week. You can also use hydrogen peroxide like a mouthwash after brushing your teeth every day. The important thing to know is that you should not swallow hydrogen peroxide. If swallowed, be sure to contact poison control.

If so what do you take to get rid of this?

bad breath is from your mouth, liver has no connection.

Can Sarcoidosis or Sjogrens syndrome ?

September 16, 2009 - 3:07 pm 2 Comments

I have dry eye,Dry mouth, dry nose, muscle pain, Joint pain, diabeties type-II, hypothyroidism. So doctor checked ANA- positive, ds-DNA- negative, SSA&SSB-negative, HIV-negative, aTPO-highly positive.

Well,
it isn’t Sjogren’s sydnrome becuase your SSa & SSb are negative.
SLE is out of the question becuase the ds-DNA is negative.
Sarcoidosis does have a positive ANA, but confermation would be a SCL-70 antibody test
Polymyositis and dermomyositis also has a positive ANA and a positive Jo antibody.
the ATPO is conferming the hypothyroidism

so I would guess that it is more sarcoidosis from your symptoms. good luck

has anyone experienced dry mouth while going through the menopause?

September 16, 2009 - 3:07 pm 1 Comment

I am going through the menopause and am suffering from dry mouth.
Has anyone else experienced this as a menopause symptom? and are there any supplements, herbs etc that relieve the symptoms. Does it go away eventually?. I’ve had dry mouth for 2 years now.

Yes. Unfortunately dry mouth is a symptom while going through menopause. It is possible for that particular symptom to dissociate into another form such as trouble sleeping, vaginal dryness, and irritability. Nevertheless, there are ways to treat this and other signs. Because every situation is different and each person experiences very differing symptoms, I would go ahead and contact the physicians that specialize in this particular situation. BodyLogicMD is the place you would want to go to as they can help stop the dryness and guide you in what to expect and the best way to help you deal with it.

Their web site is: http://www.bodylogicmd.com

I would fill out the contact form and one of their physicians will help you out. Check out their site for more information as well. I hope this could help you some.

Please help

We tend to think of a bad problem more like a simple nuisance than an indicator of a potentially more serious medical condition. After all, why would there be so many bad breath products and simple over-the-counter solutions if it was something that demanded immediate medical attention? Therefore, we carry around a pocket filled with breath mints and tend to shrug the problem off as a side effect of our love affair with spicy foods or some similarly trite explanation. Sometimes, however, chronic bad breath is a warning sign that should be taken very seriously or you risk severe consequences to your long term health.

This is far from some exaggerated claim meant to sell bad breath products because the number two cause of chronic halitosis is gum disease. Were you to visit a dentist for your bad breath symptoms, they might use a Halimeter to determine the origin of the problem. Were the Halimeter to indicate that the emissions responsible for your halitosis were coming from the back of the tongue, then you would have the garden variety bad breath and there would be no need for alarm. However, if the machine indicated that the gum line was the source of trouble, then you have gum disease.

The bad breath caused by gum disease is due to anaerobic bacteria that create an infection in the gum tissue. These bacteria like to hide behind and among plaque build-up (that invisible or sometimes opaque film that feels sticky and clings to your teeth and gums) because it is an oxygen-depleted environment and they breed much better in such circumstances.

Can I reimburse myself health insurance costs from my company?

September 13, 2009 - 2:09 pm 2 Comments

We used to have individual health insurance, and I would pay for it out of my own company (an S Corp). When we got insurance through my husband’s employer, I stopped reimbursing myself.
He is paid for by the company, and then it costs extra to add myself and our child.

I was just going to deduct health insurance premiums on our Sch A, but we don’t have enough other medical expenses to meet the limit.

Is it ligit to go ahead and reimburse myself the amount that it cost for the health insurance? Then it would be a business expense. Thanks.

No.
The insurance through your husband’s employer does not meet the test of having been established through the S-corp.

how to cure halitosis for my girl friend?

September 13, 2009 - 2:09 pm 15 Comments

My girl friend always has bad smelling breath, only happen at night 11:00pm onwards. She will get angry if I told her she smell bad. And she don’t like to take chewing gum due to the sugar content. How could I help her to cure her halitosis?

Try the suggestion for garlic tablets or peppermint. They work if the problem is a simple one due to a little excess stomach acid. Suggest that she see her dentist. She may have dental caries (cavities). If her teeth check out fine then she may have a problem with her stomach in which case she needs to be seen by her health care provider. All of this advice applies only if your GF perceives her breath as a problem and is willing to correct it.

Can a teenager get Overactive Bladder Syndrome?

September 13, 2009 - 2:09 pm 1 Comment

I’m 16 and have been having to pee more than usual. I don’t pee a lot every time I go to the bathroom, but I feel the need to pee often. Sometimes I pee a few times in the morning before I even drink anything. I’ve read a couple of things about OBS, but they didn’t say anything about teens getting it, so I wasn’t sure if it was something more common in older adults.

I don’t think I’ve noticed a dry mouth (which I’ve heard is common for diabetes), but I don’t even really know what "dry mouth" means. I mean, my mouth still makes saliva, but it might seem "dry" anyway. I just don’t know. I’ve talked to my mom about going to the doc, but she thinks I’m fine (because I get paranoid about stuff ALL the time). I think I started worrying that I might have diabetes about 2-2 1/2 months ago, and at the time I started worrying, I wasn’t having the urination problems, I forget what my initial concern was, but it was probably one of those stupid symptoms that normal people have on a daily basis.
Btw, I’m just getting done with my period (that sometimes causes me to pee more often) and I’ve been under some stress lately with worrying about diabetes. (I heard that stress can cause frequent urination.)

Thanks in advance for answers!

A lot of teens have this problem – but get a test to make sure you do not have diabetes. Sometimes we can have a mild bladder infections and it goes away on its own.
But stress can cause a multitude of symptoms, your Mom knows you better than anyone, so keep on discussing things with her – she will know when to get you professional help.
