what is the cause of a continously dry mouth and pallet?

February 14, 2010 - 9:28 am 1 Comment

My Dad’s mouth is constantly dry. Despite regular intake of liquids, also there is a slight difficulty in swallowing. I wonder if anyone could shed some light on this?

Diabetes can do this…there maybe a blood sugar test available at the chemist/drugstore.
It should be checked out, it can go on to become quite serious.

How long does bad breath last after eating onions and garlic?

February 14, 2010 - 9:28 am 1 Comment

I hate the idea of having bad breath, it’s almost like a phobia. I always pick the onions out of my food and usually don’t eat garlic. How long does bad breath last after these things? I know garlic is worse.

Thanks!

They can last a couple of days, but be aware that raw onions and garlic are much worse than cooked, which don’t tend to last long at all.

Do I Have CFS? (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome – ME)?

February 11, 2010 - 2:50 pm 1 Comment

Hi. I’m 16 years old and I feel that the past 6 months have been hard for me. Constant tiredness, decrease in concentration, depression. I am currently studying for my A Levels and finding it extremely hard to take anything in. I am finding it increasingly difficult to concentrate and focus. I have fallen asleep in class on a few occasions and I just feel like I need to sleep all of the time. On a school night I have 10 hours sleep and at the weekend I have 12-14 hours sleep and when I wake I am still exhausted. The other day I felt particularly tired and was asleep for 16 hours, even still when I woke up I was still tired and even yawning. I suffer from bad heads which I believe i am getting from straining to concentrate. I am suffering academically as a result. My neck and some of my joints sometimes pain and I have had a constant sore throat for months. Once I get home from school I sleep for a couple of hours. I think I’m also depressed because of the constant tiredness.

I have been to the doctors, had blood tests for many things (thyroid etc.) and had my throat checked but the doctor couldn’t find a solution. I never mentioned CFS to him because I have just recently found out about it.

I have also lost weight but my diet hasn’t changed at all. I don’t smoke and use to play football occasionally. I also get a dry mouth often and sometimes a shortness of breath.

I don’t know what to do or whats wrong with me? :(
Can anyone help?

Your depressed…..its a lot like CFS but not exactly the same thing.

Diet does cause acne!

February 9, 2010 - 10:13 am No Comments

Many acne suffers can tell you that their acne actually did become more severe when they ate certain foods. When they removed the same foods from their diet there was an improvement. So why do some doctors insist that acne and diet are not related?
There are several reasons people develop acne problems. Your body has several ways to eliminate waste products. Every kind of food has this problem. Today’s milk contains so many preservatives, steroids, and growth hormones that it is a leading cause of acne and other health related problems. Cardiovascular problems develop because milk is the leading contributor of plaque and mucus in the body. Nutritionists are becoming increasingly aware of the problems caused by cow’s milk. Good substitutes are goat’s milk or soy milk. So replacing cow’s milk with either goat’s milk or soy milk is the first step I would take to get rid of acne.

Consider replacing red meat with fish, in particular, deep salt water fish. Stevia can be obtained at your local health food store. Get rid of tap water in your diet. Use distilled water or purified water instead.

The truth is that the powerful drug companies want to make us dependent on their lotions and other medications. These companies give doctors free trips and other benefits by promoting their drugs. By improving your diet it may ure your acne, although not all people will be helped by diet alone. The drug companies do not make any money if all people first considered the cause of their problem to be incorrect nutrition. Nutrition being a powerful medicine in itself. A powerful solution to the treatment of acne and many other diseases of civilization. In many cases, dramatically improving and clearing acne all together.
The medications of the drug companies do not treat the cause of the disease. This type of treatment will only give you some relief, not a long term cure. Many doctors believe that acne is a genetic or heredity disorder. Therefore there is no cure for acne in their thinking. Thereby applying lotions and taking medications is only a temporary quick fix to get people coming back for more.
Recent studies have shown that diet and acne have a high connection. It has been studied that a diet rich in processed food overloads the systems of the body with toxins. These toxins stay in the body causing distress to the system and some are eliminated via the skin, which is the largest organ of the body. Diet is important! Well, why do we eat processed rubbish the causes a toxic dump in our bodies. Over time this manifests itself into diseases of civilization. The reason being they are not subjected to processed food. Their diets consist of healthy basic food groups without all the chemicals. The sugar we consume has no nutritional value. The milk we consume is loaded with hormones and other chemicals that cause confusion for our body. Many other foods that are loaded with preservatives and artificial colors are causing a severe reaction with many people.
