Terrible Halitosis that wont go away with tongue scraping?

May 30, 2010 - 12:49 pm 2 Comments

I’ve recently become plagued with terrible bad breath. I have a simple plastic tongue scraper, and it doesn’t seem to be orking well. My breath is really rank, and it’s very annoying. What else can I try, other than going to a dentist?

Bad breath can often originate from your gums rather than your tongue alone. Many times it doesn’t even originate from your mouth at all, it’s a pH issue. If mouthwash and dental materials aren’t working, OTC pills exist for it. If none of that works, a dentist is your best bet.

is it possible to have a real relationship if u suffer from halitosis?

May 21, 2010 - 6:00 pm 1 Comment

Im a 22 year old male and ive been single my whole life because i believe halitosis is a relationship killer, ive never had a close relationship with a girl before cause i don’t wanna like someone and end up heart broken, so should i try going out there or i should just keep doing this for the rest of my life?

You need to get something for that, brush your teeth and tongue thoroughly. That’s really nasty, and unattractive. So I’d say take care of that before you approach anyone. Not just females.

How can you get rid of bad breath for forever?

May 21, 2010 - 6:00 pm 6 Comments

I have bad odar breath everyday i dont know why. I brush my teeth 3 times, my gum, my, tongue, and my teeth, it helps alittle but then the smell just comes back. Please help. And i never talk in school cause of it or anywhere. Please help me thank you

Use a mouth wash with alcohol like Oral B (the kind with mint). Have a strong mint like a mint flavored tic tac. Get a tongue brush, like Ora B. Odor usually grows on the tongue, and this helps to gently yet effectively clean it off. Talk to your dentist about your hygiene issues.

How does health insurance portability work?

May 16, 2010 - 4:00 pm 2 Comments

I lost my job in December and lost health insurance. In August I will be able to get health insurance through a program at a state college I wil be attending. Is this too long of a lapse to cover pre-existing conditions? PA BTW.

The magic number, is 63 days, and that only counts when you go from one group policy to another.

So yes, preexisting conditions can be excluded once you get on this program through school.

I have a mild but chronic halitosis what is the most effective way of dealing with this without any prescribed medications?
What is an alternative to mints?

I had fecal breath odor for YEARS. Talked to many doctors who I am sure thought that I was crazy….I finally had a friend who suffers too, send me a eBook he bought 5 or 6 months ago he ask me how his breath smelt and I didn’t smell a thing. He said the eBook amongst much else had him stop eating dairy food/ soft drinks and coffee/tea. So I’m like reading it and doing all the stuff it says to do. Thinking this has to be bull. But after a few days my tongue started turning red and felt nice. I worked up the courage to ask a friend how my breath smelt and hes like I don’t smell anything. Now I’m thinking all those years of humiliation and I could have solved it ffs! There is a site about it called Oraltech Labs When I read the site I felt sorry for the guy as he clearly had a real tough time with his bad breath, which pretty much ruined his school years. At lest he found a way to beat his bad breath and is letting others know how. Post this every! where to help people!! Thanks

Weight Loss Teas Help In Reducing Cholesterol

May 14, 2010 - 4:11 am Comments Off

High cholesterol is a big health concern for many people and can be very serious. High levels of LDL cholesterol in the body are the main cause of heart disease. LDL cholesterol is the main factor of leading to the clogging of arteries. Your arteries can become blocked if LDL cholesterol that circulates in the blood develops into plaque. The good type of cholesterol known as HDL cholesterol usually carries the LDL cholesterol to the liver so it can be disposed of but when our LDL cholesterol levels are high our HDL levels are low.

You can actually lower your LDL levels and boost your HDL levels by the regular intake of tea. Green tea in particular has been shown to prevent LDL cholesterol from oxidising and then turning into plaque. Further studies conducted suggested that if your LDL levels are high, drinking tea may prevent it from becoming a major problem.

Drinking weight loss tea also may help in lowering your blood cholesterol levels, as an experiment undertaken by the University of Hong Kong. Rats were fed a high cholesterol diet for a week before starting the experiment. The rats were then divided into groups and each group were fed a different kind of tea whilst continuing the high cholesterol diet for eight weeks. One group of rats were fed water as opposed to tea.

The types of tea that were used during the process included Jasmine, Puerh, Iron Buddha, Green and Oolong tea. The object of the study was to determine whether fermented teas are as effective as unfermented teas. Jasmine tea is slightly fermented; iron Buddha and Oolong are partially fermented, Puerh is 100% fermented tea, whereas Green is tea is totally unfermented. Aside from measuring the level of cholesterol levels in the mice, the fattiness and weight of the liver was also measured.

The conclusion of the study was that Jasmine and Green tea the lesser fermented of the teas had a notable effect on the liver and serum levels of cholesterol. Also, these teas gave a considerable effect on the weight and fat of the liver. Jasmine and Green tea had a significant effect on the cholesterol levels by lowering them, whereas the fermented teas and the water had little effect whatsoever. The levels of triglycerides and HDL cholesterol did not differ much from group to group.

The results show that Green tea is a highly potent and effective way to help lower your cholesterol level especially when consumed in conjunction with a healthy varied diet and exercise. Consuming tea, especially Green tea may help you in diminishing the level of LDL cholesterol that circulates in your blood and may even prevent existing cholesterol from oxidizing and turning to plaque.

If you are unable to control your cholesterol level, Green tea could be the solution. It has no ill side effects and is generally well tolerated by most people, even those who are sensitive to the effects of caffeine. As well as a great addition to weight loss, Green tea comes with the added benefits of lowering your risk of heart disease diabetes and even cancer. Green tea is one supplement that you would surely benefit from adding this to your diet.
